Napster founder and Facebook president Sean Parker is investing $250 million into The Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy in an effort to find the cure for cancer. Parker hopes that the investment and initiative will remove obstacles related to bureaucracy and bring together researchers to focus on immunotherapy, which mobiles the bodies own defense system to fight mutant cancer cells. The research will also provide a bridge to bring any therapies to market. More than 300 scientists and 40 labs in six institutions as well as 30 private companies and advocacy groups have signed on.
